Peter is possibly one of the most relatable of Jesus' disciples that we read of in scripture. A normal man, a tradesman, with plans of his own, until one day God called him to something greater. What can and will God do with us if we learn, like Peter, to answer God's call.

In all of our stories, there are times of struggle in obeying the voice of God. Today we look at one who ran from God's grand invitation to enter into His story. Jonah, like each of us, had a choice to obey or not. Jonah chose to say "No!" to God because of his cultural bias. God did not give up on Jonah but gave him a second chance to join in God's story.

What does it take to become a "real" Christian?  Over the years, each culture and generation has said, "Believe in Jesus."  And then subltly added, "And follow the rules."  In Acts 10-11, God shows Peter that Jesus died for everyone.  Even those from different backgrounds than ours.
